    "Music and The Brain"

    Music “is food for the soul”. But really, what is music?  Why is it so significant for humans?  These are some of the questions that inspired this lecture.   The talk covers the evolutionary origin of music, music perception and the brain, the interaction between music and neuropsychiatric disorders as well as they effect of music therapy on a medical condition.  Data for this work was drawn from the work of Zartorre’s laboratory at the Montreal  McGill Institute,  Dr. A. Patel Great Courses on Music and the Brain, and Oliver Sacks, “Musicophilia”
